The Assistant General Manager directly supports the General in accordance with the company standards, state and federal regulations. The AGM Maximizes financial performance and ensures high satisfaction levels with the employees, peers, and guests.

 

Assistant General Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Ensure the highest degree of quality guest service is always maintained, through prompt and courteous care. Investigate complaints and initiate corrective action. Promptly resolve any guest complaints or issues.
Assist General Manager in managing finances of operations including budget and inventory controls. Control expenditures, labor, supplies, etc. in relation to financial forecasts and budget.
Assist General Manager with analyzing and critiquing profit and loss statements for accuracy and opportunities to improve profitability. Help prepare financial reports for management that clearly explain operational effectiveness, trends and variances. Implement appropriate cost-savings initiatives.
Assist General Manager in developing accurate and aggressive long and short-range revenue goals consistent with the Company’s expectations. Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and revenue management teams to create effective strategies.
Implement and maintain effective open-door communication system that encourages feedback and interaction between all departments.
Complete property walks to interact with guests and employees, identify successes, issues, concerns and opportunities. Celebrate successes and coach or counsel managers or team members on any deficiencies.
Ensure good safety practices of employees and guests.
Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and conduct.
Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the managers and team members.
Manage and motivate management team in the execution of their duties. Conduct performance appraisals
Interact with the general public, customers, employees, vendors, and government officials with professionalism, tact and courtesy.
Understand the government regulations affecting resort operations; ensure the resort operates in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority.
Assist General Manager with establishing and maintaining applicable preventive maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of the hotel. Lead and execute renovation projects/plans.
Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire team members to exceed standards and promote team empowerment.
Ensure proper communication within the resort by participating in and conducting regular meetings with all managers. Effective communicator to peer managers.
Delegate duties and projects with consistent follow up.
Maintain clean and organized work area.
Maintain and train the proper emergency and security procedures.
Maintain systems and controls to provide adequate supplies for efficient operation of the resort.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications

Previous experience managing a team through motivation, coaching and development.
The ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals and direction quickly and multitask.
Capable of using independent judgment/solid decision-making skills.
Proven comfort and experience to interact effectively with all levels of management, guests, and employees, both inside and outside of the organization.
Activator/self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.
Proficiency with computers and general office PC applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail.
Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate well with others, effectively deal with guests, and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations.
Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare budgets.
Make business decisions based on production reports and similar facts, as well as on your own experience and personal opinions

Guest Services Manager / Evening Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Manage and monitor activities of all employees making sure they adhere to resort policies and procedures
Direct and oversee all resort operations during the evening shift to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.

Check accommodations making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly, greet guests upon arrival and ensure escort to accommodations if appropriate.

Maintain a professional and high quality service oriented environment at all times.

Act as manager on duty for the resort in the absence of the Assistant General Manager with complaints, problem solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise.

Welcome our guests to the resort in a friendly and helpful manner and ensure that the public areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the evening shift

Work closely with multiple departments to improve guest services and foster cross departmental communication.

Know the general operations of the different departments

Help manage all safety and loss prevention functions of the resort including but not limited to employee and guest incident reporting as it arises

Maintaining visibility to resort employees to assist with employee relations as needed

 

What are we looking for?

Strong administrative and computer skills are required

Enthusiasm & passion for customer service

Must possess good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, be outgoing, perceptive and self-motivated with the ability to work harmoniously with varying personalities

Must be able to communicate articulately and comprehend written and verbal communication

Hospitality Experience preferred

-Interacting with guests with energy and hospitality

-Manage daily operation of Waterpark to ensure efficiency, safety, well-being of guests

-Develops, implements and monitors schedules for Waterpark operation

-Maintains favorable work environment and relationships promoting maximum morale, productivity and efficiency

-Minimizes safety hazards by following and enforcing all safety rules and procedures.

-Maintains, secures, and protects all resort property and equipment

-Monitors Waterpark daily and notes/reports any changes or concerns to management

-Oversees training and development of Waterpark staff

-Our Waterpark hosts many birthday parties and events. The Supervisor will oversee and communicate with guests regularly regarding these events. Staffing these events appropriately is of utmost importance for guest satisfaction and safety.

-This is a hands-on position. Must be able and available assist in any facet of operations to improve guest services or efficiency.

-Maintains a general knowledge of the entire resort operation.

-Performs all other duties as assigned or as necessary

The Ideal Candidate Must Possess:

*Leadership experience, and/or have strong operation knowledge.

-Self-starter with the ability to anticipate and manage multiple projects of varied priority through planning, execution, and follow up.

-Strong communication skills, both oral and written, in addition to organizational, administrative, and public relations skills.

-Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time outdoors in various weather conditions to include extreme heat and sun.

-The availability to work flexible hours and varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

The Crown Reef Resort is an ocean front property located in Myrtle Beach.  Qualified candidates will also possess an eye for detail and the desire to exceed the expectations of guests and homeowners.
Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Coordinate with the Housekeeping Manager, General Manager and Chief Engineer in the repair and maintenance program as related to guestrooms and public areas.
• Maintain inventory of guestrooms and housekeeping supplies including all month-end inventories.
• Coordinates all the needs of the Housekeeping department.
• Train room attendants and supervisors on proper procedures for cleaning rooms.
• Accept opportunities to learn new skills, improve performance or cross-train for other resort
