Christmas in Myrtle Beach

Christmas time is a beautiful time of year when lights are sparkling and ornaments are shining. There is nothing better than taking in a great Christmas themed show and reveling in the holiday spirit. Luckily Myrtle Beach has the most wonderful Christmas shows, parades and tree lightings to encompass the holiday joy.

You can even make your own holiday joy right at Crown Reef; we have year round amenities for the whole family. Make sure to pack your swim suit and take advantage of the indoor pool, hot tubs and our seasonally enclosed Waterpark!

Do your kids love arcade games? We have a state of the art coinless, ticketless arcade they will love called Game On! It’s easy, you load money on to game cards and away the kids can play. When they win, the tickets are loaded on to the game card and can be redeemed for awesome prizes at the Winner’s Circle.

Christmas Parades


A Very Broadway Christmas Parade
Where: Hard Rock Café, around Broadway at the Beach, to WonderWorks.
When: Dec. 3 at 11 a.m.

Surfside Beach Christmas Parade
Where: Ocean Boulevard in Surfside Beach
When: Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade
Where: Wilcox Avenue, down Business 17 to Pendergrass Avenue in Murrells Inlet
When: Dec. 3, 3 p.m.

Light Displays


Festival of Trees
Where: Ripley’s Aquarium, Broadway at the Beach, Myrtle Beach
What: Beautifully decorated Christmas trees with state themes.
When: Nov. 6 to Dec. 31

Night of a Thousand Candles
Where: Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet
What:  4,500 hand-lit candles and thousands of lights decorate a beautiful sculpture and botanical garden.  Enjoy live entertainment, and each night they light a 70-foot tall tree that grows on property and has 70,000 LED lights.  If the weather is nice, go early to avoid the line!
When: Dec. 1-3, 8-10, and 15-18 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Tree Lightings


Downtown – Boardwalk Tree Lighting
Where: Plyler Park
What: Carnival games, the Polar Express and Ripley’s Ruckus Drumline, make this event a must-do.
When: Nov. 28, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.

A Very Broadway Christmas Tree Lighting
Where: Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach
What:  Music, comedians, and Santa.
When: Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. with Fireworks Show at 8 p.m.
