The Market Common is a trendy new addition to the already popular Myrtle Beach shopping and dining scene. Crown Reef Resort is practically a stone’s throw away from The Market Common, making it a convenient and chic area for our guests to enjoy.

1.       Dining: What’s your favorite style of cuisine? The Market Common has you covered, from Asian to Italian and Mexican to American it’s all showcased in the intimate complex. There are so many great options it is hard to choose, but our favorites are Travinia Italian Kitchen and Gordon Biersch. Travinia is a little more upscale, but they have rather reasonable prices and mouthwateringly good food. We recommend starting with the Antipasto Platter appetizer and good luck deciding between their mouthwateringly good entrees. Gordon Biersch is a great place to sip on a microbrew while noshing on trendy pub food; we recommend the Mediterranean Nachos and the Filet Mignon Sliders with housemade pub chips.

2.       Shopping: Some of our favorite shopping stops are Ivy and Leo, Francesca’s Collection, Current XXVII Boutique and Dove Olive Oil Company. Of course there are stores to cater to everyone’s tastes, you will have to stop by and check out the exclusive shops. Francesca’s and Current stock very limited amounts of each piece, so you will probably not run into many people that have the same shirt or dress. The other great thing about these favorite shops are that they tend to be more casual dressy, and most pieces can transition from work to day or night effortlessly.

Dove Olive Oil Company is a specialty foods store with healthy and delicious products. If you like homemade and organic, this is your store! Dove specializes in infused olive oils and handmade pasta products. Thankfully they don’t stop their culinary creativity there! The products available for purchase range from seasonings, sauces and spreads, to tea and even skincare products. The absolute best part of purchasing food stuffs from Dove is knowing exactly what is in it and skipping all of the harmful preservatives!

3.Free Events:

a.       Movies Under the Stars in Valor Park: Catch your favorite family movie each Friday night, shown right in Valor Park while you relax under the stars. Lay out your blanket, set up your snacks and get comfy the movie starts at 9:00 p.m.

b.      Music on the Green in Valor Park: Thursday evenings all summer long sway to the music of live bands from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. right in Valor Park.

4.       Carriage Rides: Kick your romance up a notch with a free carriage ride every Friday, around The Market Common after your busy day exploring. Rides are from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and begin at Dolce Lusso Salon.

5.       Deville Street Farmers Market: Support our local farmers and feel great about your fruits and vegetables while you are on vacation. We know you don’t want to spend every meal eating out, so stock up every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on locally grown produce, seafood and handmade items.

The Market Common has so much to offer and so many fun things to do you could spend every day of your vacation there and every meal, and still have more to do on your next trip back!
