January Myrtle Beach Events

By Crown Reef

January is a beautiful month to come enjoy Myrtle Beach.  The low winter sun provides for spectacular sunsets, beautiful sunrises, and mild temperatures that will make you forget the freezing cold awaiting you back home.  While the city does slow down some in January, there are still plenty of events going on to keep you entertained when you’re not watching the waves crash into the shore.

Silent Cities at Brookgreen Gardens – Everyday in January

Just a short drive south from Crown Reef on Highway 17 will take you to the beautiful 9,100 acre property known as Brookgreen Gardens.  In January, Brookgreen Gardens will host their Silent Cities exhibit, which will take you around the property to see historical graveyards from the 1700’s and learn about European burial customs dating back to pre-Civil War times.  Tickets for this two-hour excursion cost just $15 and can be purchased at the Keepsakes gift shop.  Please call (843) 235-6042 for more information.

Pajamas & Putt-Putt – January 25th

Dress to impress in your favorite PJ’s when you head to Captain Hook’s Adventure Golf just off 20th avenue North in Myrtle Beach.  All proceeds from this event will go to help out the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity right here in Myrtle Beach.  Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the tournament starts at 11 a.m. Call (843) 650-8815 for more information.

2nd Annual Taste of the Inlet – January 26th

From 6 pm – 9 pm at the Inlet Square Mall in Murrells Inlet, you’ll be able to put your taste buds to work with delicious food from various local restaurants.  Over 25 restaurants in total are participating in the event with many showcasing their signature dishes.  Tickets go on sale on January 6th.  Please call (843) 651-6990 for more information.
