Brookgreen Gardens- You may be visiting from a town that has nature in abundance or you may live in a city where a tree sighting is rare. Either way, Brookgreen Gardens brings a whole new spectacle to nature’s beauty and this green getaway escape is a sanctuary that all ages will enjoy. There are endless green pastures with sculptures, flowers, fountains and shaded walkways, all of which help offer a serene and awe-inspiring afternoon for your party, whatever the number or ages of guests you have in your company. They also have lunch cafes strewn throughout the gardens that offer a delicious lunch that will be as memorable as the garden's beauty. For children, the zoo and the butterfly exhibit are most exciting so be sure to waltz that way on your voyage through serenity. It is located about twenty minutes from Crown Reef Resort yet the drive into the plantation is serene and traffic free. For small groups, your VMB Card will allow you to receive $1 off garden admission (up to 4 adults per card). For larger groups of 15 people or more, Brookgreen Gardens offers lower rates.
Family Kingdom- It is the largest outdoor amusement park in and around Myrtle Beach and it is located about two miles from Crown Reef Resort. From roller coasters to kiddie rides, everyone can enjoy a piece of Family Kingdom, which is open seasonally. There are bumper cars and go-karts, a water park and more. It is walking distance from the beach and many restaurants and shops. There is also a Picnic Pavilion which is a covered dining area that can accommodate up to one hundred people, and is a perfect meeting and dining place for your large party. Be sure to ask about the special rates they offer for 24 or more people.
WonderWorks- This indoor amusement park for the mind is amusing for all ages and will leave you with knowledge and wonderful memories. WonderWorks is located at Broadway at the Beach. It is a large enough venue to accommodate everyone’s' experience under one roof so that the group may maintain one another. Experience things like feeling the gravitational pull of the Titanic ship floor, feeling hurricane winds, laying on a bed of nails, playing with gigantic bubbles, simulating a flight through space and much more. Besides the indoor high ropes course, almost all exhibits are age friendly to all, even the little ones.
